Coregas Argon gas
Argon is an inert gas, so it is ideal for processes that require a non-reactive atmosphere, such as inerting, blanketing, and as a shielding gas in welding.
We produce and supply argon in both compressed gas and cryogenic liquid forms (LAR). Available in industrial or laboratory grade, our argon gas is manufactured to high standards, with guaranteed purity levels as specified in the certificates of conformance for each product. Our industrial grade gas, Argon 4.7, is used for MIG and TIG welding applications as well as for purging, plasma cutting and other industrial applications where an inert shielding gas is required. Argon 5.0 is used for purging, welding and plasma cutting where a higher degree of purity is desirable. It is also used as a carrier gas in gas chromatography.

In common with other compressed gases, the cylinders in which it is stored may explode if exposed to very high temperatures that cause the gas pressure to rise beyond the level of which the cylinders are designed to handle. Accordingly, argon gas cylinder tanks should be stored upright, in a well-ventilated storage area that is dry and cool.
How long a single cylinder tank lasts will depend on the flow rate. For a flow rate of between 0.5 and 0.7 M³ per hour, you can expect a 10.6m³ cylinder tank to last from 15-21 hours. For other flow rates, simply divide the cylinder tank capacity by the relevant flow rate.
Is argon gas heavier than air?
Yes, argon is denser than air. Argon gas will displace the oxygen present in the air close to the ground. For this reason, it is sometimes used to put out fires in areas where equipment that could be damaged by water or foam extinguishers is present.
As an inert gas, argon will not go bad when stored correctly. It should be safe to use in a TIG welding process, gas purge process or other industrial application even after spending a long time in storage.
Although argon itself is not flammable, argon gas cylinder tanks may explode in a fire due to the heat increasing the pressure beyond normal working capacity. As with all products that are stored at high pressure, precautions must be taken to ensure safety; inert gases pose the risk of asphyxiation in enclosed spaces and can cause cold burns to skin when exposed to argon compressed gas or liquid.
